The Council of the Rural Municipality of Malpeque Bay is the governing body of the municipality, made up of a Chairperson and councillors elected by residents of the seven communities. Regular Council meetings are held monthly at 7:00 PM at Malpeque Hall, 2205 Route 20, and all residents are welcome to attend.
